The Street Dog and The Teddy Bear

It was noon in the rainy season, but it was very hot as if the sun was not far from the world. A very dirty street dog with many scars on his face was walking along the street in an obvious state of happiness. He had a small, dirty Teddy Bear in his mouth. I saw him and asked " Where are you going?" He stopped and looked at me. I thought he wanted to show me the Teddy Bear he held in his mouth. But then, he ran away. I continued to look at him and began to think about the state of people today.

Many people are sad about the past and worry about the future. They forget to stay focused on the happiness of the present. This is different than the dog with the Teddy Bear. That dog is not unhappy with his life, even though he is only a street dog. He is not worrying about his dinner, just happy in the moment with the only possession he has in life.

There are always two ways to look at thing. For example, if it is raining some think that this is not good. It is inconvenient to go some place. But, some think it is good. They can breathe in the fresh air and smell the flowers and trees. During the day some think they are too busy and have too many things to do. Others think it is good to be busy. They enjoy that fact that they have things to keep their life full. It doesn't matter what is happening in your life, think about it in the positive, even though it may not be good right now.

When things are not as you want at the present you should look to the future. For example, some are born to very poor families. When they are faced with bad situations in their life it may be difficult to accept. Some become discouraged with their lives. But, those who look to the future understand that being born poor can make one diligent, strong, patient and economical. These are qualities that can lead to a rewarding and productive life in the future. The important thing is you have to have positive thinking to make yourself happy. Good things will happening to you. All has a reason and is good.

Time passes very quickly. In each day you may be happy or sad. It's normal. If you are sad now it means you will be happy soon. Don't worry about the sadness. Hold your head up, look at the good things you have and a good situation will happen soon.
